Meet Mary Ann....

Mary Ann Williamson is my 1st cousin three times removed. She is the Grand Daughter of my 3rd Great Grand Father Nicholas Williamson and his wife Mary Lowery. Nicholas was born in Ennerdale, Cumberland and moved to Harrington,Cumberland where his 6th child Thomas married a Margaret Wyllie and their 4th child Mary Ann married Robert Ellwood. Nicholas and Mary had 13 children, Thomas and Margaret had 10 children and Mary Ann and Robert had 8 children.

I think I had researched back as far as Nicholas and Mary when I came in contact with a wonderful man named Derek Ellwood (my 4th cousin once removed) Derek was the Grandson of Mary Ann and Robert through their youngest son and 8th child Nicholas. Not only did Derek pass on to me his research on the Ellwood Line he had also done many more years back of excellent research on my Williamson Line which he promptly and graciously gave to me. Along with that came this Family Photo of Mary Ann and Robert Ellwood's Family.

Going through my files and updating this week the photo resurfaced and I thought what a shame to store this fine looking family in a folder in a file cabinet, they deserve to see the light of day. So here they are, the paper copy Derek sent shows all the names and how they are linked. I spent a couple of hours yesterday taking off head shots of each person and added them in the right places on my Charts. It was worth it to put all the faces with what had previously only been names.


Hope you are all not too confused, it all makes perfect sense to me.
