Easter Memories

As a child this was probably the thing I looked forward to the most on Easter Monday. After several day's of dying and decorating eggs they would magically appear in our baskets along with other goodies.

Oh! Yes the long awaited Large Cadbury Egg filled with Chocolates. And the Cream Eggs still a favorite today.
In the town I was born in, Preston, Lancashire, England We had a large Park designed and built in the 1860's by Edward Miner. It is still a tradition today to go to Avenham Park and roll your Easter Eggs down the Hill. We would dress up in our Easter Dresses and wear our new Summer Sandals and walk to the park carrying our baskets along with hundreds of other families. Of course remember this was England so some years were spent rolling our eggs on the rug in front of the living room fire, while the rain poured down outside.

Even so England is lovely in the Spring, so many Spring Flowers. Buying the first Daffodils and Tulips at the market with my Mother is a very fond memory.
