My Cousin Sir Cecil Walter Hardy Beaton wrote the following about his aunts...
"The beauty of these sisters vibrated the village of Temple Sowerby in Westmorland. Joseph Sisson had altogether nine children. The two eldest Sarah Hannah and Mary Jane it later transpired had incurred their mother's life long displeasure by making unsuitable alliances and emigrating to Canada and Australia. They were never spoken of again."
(from the Book, My Bolivian Aunt by Cecil Beaton published 1971)
How very sad! But thanks to Family History Research it seems no one is lost for ever. Yesterday a photograph of Sarah Hannah Sisson came to light as I pursued my daily journey of discovery.

I miss your stories when you take a break. I know we all need a break now and again, but know that you are missed.
