I love the cooler temperatures, the light is so pretty and golden. I love watching the trees change colors.
Growing up in England I was surrounded by lots of trees. As children we would wait anxiously for the large Chestnut Trees to flower and then drop their Chestnuts.
Hours were spent with my friends as we would gather and string the chestnuts and compare who got the largest “Conkers”
Since then the focus of my favorite tree has changed to the “Family Tree”.
Family History has been with me for at least 30 years to one degree or another. It all begins with knowing just one name and that is your own name. After becoming a member of the LDS Church I learned the importance of why we trace our own family roots.
This was back in the day’s before Computers and Data Bases and the going was painstakingly slow and laborious and expensive at times.
I have a program on my computer I call my working tree and several different lines I publish on Ancestry.com at last count my personal tree was at 20,227 individuals. I also have over 400 old photographs and documents saved online.
Not even possible to track all that without a computer, and while it may seem like a lot of names, compared to some friends I have that number pales in comparison to what they have.
So, because I love working to gather together all the ancestors and descendents on my Family Tree I will keep gathering.
