Another great Photo find from those sent to me by Ingrid. These are of my Great Grandparents. John Longrigg and Elizabeth Lancaster John was born in 1842 and Elizabeth in 1844. When I was first starting to do my Family History these two were very hard to trace because they were born in one place, married in another and died in another. Back then (30 years ago) we did not have the benefits of the Internet so I spent many hours going through film at the Family History Library hoping I had found the right Birth Marriage and Death Certificates. So really amazing after 30 some years of only knowing their names to be able to put faces to them is great. I especially like the one of Elizabeth Lancaster Longrigg with I am not sure which child. At first I thought it was son John but now I think it is either eldest daughter Sarah or eldest son William Henry So interesting that little boys were dressed more like little girls back then, so could be either.
Today will be a sad day for me. I get to attend the funeral of an old friend of mine's youngest daughter. My heart has been heavy for my friend since I heard of the Death about a week ago. So hard to comprehend how her family must be feeling at this time because of the tragic nature of it.
