About a month before Christmas I received an email from a lady in Suffolk, England. She wrote that she had seen my Family Tree on Ancestry.com and recognized the name of a second cousin of mine (the son of my Grandfathers brother) The only thing I knew about him was his name. It seems as a young married woman with her husband and two daughters she had moved in across the street from him and his wife. They had a good relationship with them over the years and helped them as they got older as they had no children of their own. After they both passed away, Eric first and then his wife Gladys last, they left her with a large box of Photographs and Documents. She suggested that maybe I might be interested in having them. Wow!! maybe is right. My reply was an immediate YES! Since then Ingrid has become my new best friend and has been patiently scanning Photo's and documents to me. Unfortunately some of the Pic's were not known to Ingrid but I have been able to figure out some of them. Advice to all people who take pictures, please write the person and the year on the back of your Pictures. You may know who they are but years from now others will not. Today I will Post three Pictures. First one is of Frances Bray the wife of my Grand Uncle John Longrigg as a child dancing. I love this picture and then one of Annie Mary Bray her older Sister also dancing. The 3rd one is of the girls with their Mother Sarah Williamson Bray. She happens to be the eldest daughter of Martin Williamson my second Great Grand Father. Sarah was born in 1857 in Harrington, Cumberland England. The Census shows the Williamson's lived on the same Street as the Bray's and the Longrigg's. More to come I am becoming a regular Sherlock Holmes with my magnifying glass on this case. Such fun and so many thanks to Ingrid.

I LOVE these pics of the girls dancing - so much more than just a smile and a face. Thx for sharing
I too love these photos. One thing I'll be eternally grateful to my Mother for is that she always wrote the date and place on the back of photos, and consequently I do the same. It's so easy to think that we'll remember where and when they were taken but we easily forget.
