One more 4th of July celebrations are history. I was so busy taking care of others. Cooking ,Cleaning ,Entertaining I forgot to take any pictures. I will have to get some from the ones who did.
Poor Dog, Who would do this?
My Food and My Table did not look this good, maybe next year!
I did watch the Fireworks on TV Later in the evening over Boston Harbor and they were Spectacular and lasted forever.
My morning started out with going over to the Ward Breakfast. it was very nice quite a few people turned out for it. Paul put on his own little fireworks for the kids. He had built a Volcano and had a story that went along with it. Started out with a Fire breathing Dragon then Bubbles coming from the top then it changed to crackling fireworks and lots of smoke bombs in different colors and the Grand Finale was a very large firework that unfortunately malfunctioned half way through.
Still all the kids loved it as well as the adults. We had a repeat performance in the evening in our back yard for the family and our grandchildren and some of the neighbors. This time the Grand Finale worked. (Paul took the other firework back and they replaced it.)
After the Breakfast I did a little last minute Grocery shopping and the rest of my Day was spent preparing food and serving food and then cleaning up. But I am not complaining, it was so great to have our family back. Our grandchildren after being in the Netherlands for two years were not quite sure what the day was all about. But I know one thing, little boys always love fireworks.
As the 4th of July is my sons Birthday it is always more special. Matt does not like to have a big fuss made. As a child we were not allowed to sing Happy Birthday to him. This year his wife Shannon and him decided they wanted to go on a hike to the top of one our mountains. They were gone most of the day we did see them for a few minutes after they returned. They did get a little lost and did not make it all the way to the top. Nevertheless it was quite the adventure and a great work out. Shannon had her "Step Meter" on and the 10.000 steps a day she aims for was way exceeded. It registered 27.000 If that was me I would not move for the next 3 day's.
A fun 4th to remember!
