I have been called to Jury Duty three times in the last few months. The first two times I faithfully called every evening to see if I would be needed the next day. I always was told not to report.
However today was a little different. I reported to the West Jordan Third District Court at before 8:30am this morning. After going through security check and signing in to the Jury Room, the Court Clerk attempted to play us a CD on TV of what to expect. The CD would not work so she gave up on it.
Twenty minutes later a lawyer came in to the room and explained that their would be some delays and he would be back. True to his word he came back after another 20 minutes and told us the Defendant was a "No Show" and a Warrant has been issued for her arrest. Thanked us for being such great citizens and we would be paid for the day and released from this round of service.
I think I was just a little disappointed not to see the whole thing through. Oh Well! Maybe next time.
