When working on my Family History one of the most enjoyable things I do is to research the places my ancestors lived. My Father's Line is from Scotland and my Mother's maternal Line is from England. The Williamson's are from Cumberland or as it is known now as Cumbria. I have researched the Williamson's back to the Chapelry of Ennerdale in the ancient parish of St Bees in 1572. They were mostly Farmers and Blacksmiths. they were there until my direct Ancestor Nicholas Williamson moved to Harrington a few miles away. Other descendents were also moving to other towns in Cumberland. Ennerdale is in one of the most beautiful places in the Lake District. It is one of the most remote of all the lakes and looks much the same as it did in the 1500's. The Poet William Wordworth attended the Parish Church In Ennerdale from time to time and it is The lake District he wrote his famous poem about the Daffodils.

This looks like such a beautiful, peaceful place. Maybe we'll have to take a family trip and have you be our tour guide :)
Thanks for the comment Stacie. I have never been to Ennerdale or Harrington but I have been to the Lake District. I have sailed on Lake Windemere a few times. It is lovely.
That looks so amazing!
